Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Improv scary?

The idea of doing improv is scary, we get that. Since we know that, we do lots of easy things at first to get people in the groove. Our workshops are a safe space, you will not be singled out, you will not be put on the spot against your wishes. We promise that the groups that have done our workshops love them, and they want them again!

  • What is a typical improv workshop like?

Each workshop involves some interactive improv exercises, or games as we call them. Many of these games involve attendees to pair up and do these games with another attendee. Occasionally there are group games, and we also do some solo improv exercises - these are voluntary! We can lead a workshop for 500 people or more, and we can do a workshop for groups of ten with the same enthusiasm.

  • What if I am an introvert?

Some of the best improvisors in the world are introverts - and I am not just saying that to get you to have a workshop. Improv is really all about LISTENING. And introverts are often very good listeners!

  • How long are your workshops?

Most of our workshops are at least one hour. Ninety minutes seems to be a really good fit, and two hours are better for larger groups. Anything shorter than an hour feels rushed for most groups. It does take several minutes for some attendees to relax and enjoy what they are learning. We find that the last half of our workshops are when everyone hits a stride and then everyone wants us to stay forever!

  • You are based in Cincinnati. How far do you travel to lead a workshop?

We are happy to go almost anywhere! We might find an excuse to skip an outdoor February workshop in Buffalo, but other than that - all options are possible!

  • What will the main takeaways that I can expect?

Every workshop we do is completely customizable. Do you have specific communication challenges? Do you want your team to be better with your customers and each other? Or do you just want a fun team-building exercise where your people can relax and blow off some steam? ALL of these can be accomplished - often in the same workshop! Your group will walk out with specific communication strategies and ideas that they can use the very next day. They will be better listeners. They will have tools to build deeper relationships with customers, patients, and each other. AND your group will laugh together - and that Ridiculous Joy will last for quite awhile!
